That’s what you have to know about Dolomiti Paganella Bike

First of all: Dolomiti Paganella Bike, in Trentino, is one of the most spectacular Bike Resorts in Europe! How you can not plan a bike holiday here?
Whether it’s your first gravity experience or if you have never visited us, we suggest you to have a look at this easy guide.
It takes two minutes, it deserves it!

Bike park
zone

In Dolomiti Paganella Bike we have 3 Bike Park areas:
Fai della Paganella, gravity "technical trails" and one of the best flow trail
Molveno, panoramic and easiest flow trails
Andalo challenging flow trails
You need the right skill and right equipment:

Our suggestions

  • HELMET - MANDATORY. Full face helmet strictly recommended
  • GOGGLE
  • NECK BRACE
  • BODY ARMOUR
  • KNEE PADS (mandatory)
  • ELBOW PADS
  • BIKE SHOES

Shared
single trails

Bike Parks are connected each other by single trails "shared" (with trekkers) and suited for trail, allmountain and enduro bikes. Don't forget we have also two Epic Enduro trails:  Lake2Lake and  Bear Trails

Our suggestions

  • HELMET - MANDATORY. An open face All Mountain / Enduro helmet will give you the possibility to enjoy nature at its best, to smile and greet people you meet along the singletrails.
BACKPACK. Better with back protection; many singletrails are far away from controlled areas; a backpack will allow you to carry repair kit and tools, water, clothing, trail maps and other devices you may need
  • GLASSES
  • GLOVES
  • KNEE PAD
  • BIKE SHOES

Bikes

On the Dolomiti Paganella Bike trails we recommend two kinds of bikes, depending on what you’re going to do.
We dissuade you to use HardTrail/XC bikes on the trails of Dolomiti Paganella Bike, because they are intended for pedaling, not for riding down.

DOWNHILL & FREERIDE

In the Bike Park zones on gravity trails.
DH – mtb freeride bikes are strong, with efficient disc brakes, 180mm/200 mm suspensions, and are intended to ride safe on the trails. These bikes are not suitable for riding on the singletrails.

ALL MOUNTAIN/ENDURO

The right bikes for the shared areas, where trails are shared with hikers and other users.
All Mountain – Enduro bikes are adaptable, you can pedal upwards too and have a lot of fun on your way down on the trails of Dolomiti Paganella Bike.

E-MTB

In Trentino there is no restriction for using Hybrid and E-Bikes on the trails, but in Dolomiti Paganella we mostly use DH or Enduro bikes, therefore suitable for descents. You can rent e-bikes in many bike shops of the area.

CROSS-COUNTRY

We dissuade you to use HardTrail/XC bikes on the trails of Dolomiti Paganella Bike, because they are intended for pedaling, not for riding down.

Bike Patrol

Ride safe with with the angels of Dolomiti Paganella Bike

Patrols operate on the 3 Bike Zones during the main bike season. They assist, educate and inform bikers on responsible mountain biking in the areas. Look for them if you need any suggestion about trails, itineraries, other bikes related service or if you just need some help.

Trail rules (shared Trails)

Plan your rides

Know your equipment, your ability and the area in which you are riding and prepare accordingly. Strive to be self-sufficient: keep your equipment in good repair and carry necessary supplies for changes in weather or other conditions. Always wear a helmet and appropriate safety gear.

Yield appropriately

Do your utmost to let your fellow trail users know you're coming — a friendly greeting or bell ring are good methods. Try to anticipate other trail users as you ride around corners. Bicyclists should yield to other non-motorized trail users, unless the trail is clearly signed for bike-only travel. Bicyclists traveling downhill should yield to ones headed uphill, unless the trail is clearly signed for one-way or downhill-only traffic. In general, strive to make each pass a safe and courteous one.

Never scare animals

Animals are easily startled by an unannounced approach, a sudden movement or a loud noise. Give animals enough room and time to adjust to you. When passing horses, use special care and follow directions from the horseback riders (ask if uncertain). Running cattle and disturbing wildlife are serious offenses.

Leave no trace

Be sensitive to the dirt beneath you. Wet and muddy trails are more vulnerable to damage than dry ones. When the trail is soft, consider other riding options. This also means staying on existing trails and not creating new ones. Don't cut switchbacks. Be sure to pack out at least as much as you pack in.

Control your bike

Inattention for even a moment could put yourself and others at risk. Obey all bicycle speed regulations and recommendations and ride within your limits.

Ride open trails

Respect trail and road closures — ask a land manager for clarification if you are uncertain about the status of a trail. Do not trespass on private land. Obtain permits or other authorization as required. Be aware that bicycles are not permitted in areas protected as state or federal wilderness.

Responsibilty Code

Mountain Biking and gravity sport activities such as downhill, freeride and enduro involve elements of risk that common sense and personal awareness can help to reduce. Please, READ CAREFULLY and adhere to the responsibility code and share a safe experience with others.

Share the trail

Singletrails are trails shared with other people, who have to take precedence.
Respect other users - slow down and communicate when passing
Respect the land and the wildlife  - leave no trace
Respect trail rules  - be responsible
The right clothing can reduce any possible conflict; for hikers is really more pleasant to meet a biker smiling and wearing an open-face helmet instead of a biker with a full face-helmet and hiding his face.
